Race #4 for 2016! Here's a description of the course from Duluth Head Coach Brian Hayden:
" Overlooking the hillside of downtown Duluth and Lake Superior riders and spectators will be treated to the full falls colors of the Northland this weekend. The course is a spectacular 3.8 mile circuit that will take riders from the top of Spirit Mountain down a combination of "old school" single track including some small creek crossings, small rocks, roots and double track to the newly opened Duluth Traverse (DT) flow trail in "fern valley" along the rushing Knowlton Creek. The smooth fast DT includes many small rollers and bermed corners for riders to recover on as the course then climbs the 600 feet long Puker Trail (yes that term is correct!) to the finish back at the top of Spirit Mountain.

New for this year is a new mapping tool for each of our races. Here's the Spirit Mountain map and nearby amenities in the Duluth community. The new mapping system, a product called atlas3D, was developed by concept3D, a leader in location based software and 3D services and with offices here in Minneapolis MN. Check them out at www.atlas3D.com!

Be sure to follow the MN League on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram for updates.

It takes a whole lot of volunteers to ensure a safe race for our student athletes. Please volunteer!

VOLUNTEER TO BE A PART OF THE DULUTH RACE DAY CREW!

Thanks for doing a super job at Rochester! However we desperately need your help in producing the race this weekend in Duluth. We only require a few hours of your time each race weekend.
Helping with scoring, crossing guards, parking, course marshals, and the popular "sweep" positions - all are important. We need 130-160 people to make these races work.
Suggestion: If your son or daughter is racing, volunteer to help when your child is not racing. Be a part of the excitement and still be able to watch your son or daughter race!

How to Sign Up:
1. Go to the Volunteer page on the minnesotamtb.org site.
2. Review the positions available.
3. Click on the Volunteer button on the right side of the page.
4. You will be taken to a different website where you can sign up to volunteer!

Thank you - we appreciate your support!

AN IMPORTANT WORD ABOUT MEDICAL SUPPLIES...

Parents, please be sure your student athlete comes to each and every race (as well as practices) equipped with any essential medical supplies. This includes inhalers, epi-pens, blood test kits, insulin, and anything required to avert a medical emergency. Your coach should be informed of her/his specific condition, food allergy, etc. and the required course of action should an emergency arise.

PASTA DINNER AFTER THE SATURDAY DULUTH PRE-RIDE

How cool is this: our hosts, the Duluth Composite Team, has organized a pasta dinner immediately after the Saturdayafternoon pre-ride. The cost is still will be approximately $10-12/person. It will be located at the Grand Avenue Chalet at Spirit Mountain. This is the lower chalet located at 8551 Grand Avenue Duluth, MN 55810. Parking is available at the Chalet or one can ride down from the top chalet. The chalet is a large open area which will be great for socializing and hanging out with racers from other teams.
